ABSTRACT

The Sturm-Liouville differential equation has been widely applied and studied for around two centuries with the "usual" boundary conditions, but a growing number of situations has been addressed where the boundary conditions depend on the eigenparameter as well. This talk will survey some of the similarities and differences between these two cases, and will show how one can "almost" be transformed into the other.
